(греч. "усердие", "протяжение"; общее моление на церк. богослужениях; ектения делится на ряд кратких прошений, сопровождаемых восклицаниями: "Господи, помилуй", "Подай, Господи" (см. Господи), "Услыши нас, Господи" (последнее у католиков); эти прошения возглашаются диаконом; в совр. правосл. богослужении существуют великая, малая, сугубая и просительная ектении, отличающиеся продолжительностью прошений и словами восклицаний; в совр. англо-амер. литературе правосл. ектения называется "collect") litany, synapte; англик. suffrages, the Litany and Suffrages; ( возглашаются диаконом) ectene, ektene, diaconicon, diaconal, diaconika, irenicon, aitesisектения о верных — the Litany of [for] the Faithful
